The
Castle, still ruined, was purchased by Lt Col Stewart Allward in
1965 and a full restoration was carried out by family and friends.
The family still look after the Castle today.
You are standing on the island at the bottom of some stairs. These
stairs were constructed during the restoration of the Castle between
1965 and 1975.
